Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am pleased to welcome all the participants to the International Conference 2015 of the Genetics Society of Korea (GSK) that will be held in Seoul, South Korea from December 4 to 5, 2015. This conference will give you a platform to broaden your knowledge, exchange ideas and technologies on a broad topics in Genetics and Genomics, and serve the opportunities for networking among participants. The conference will be held at the Hanyang University, one of the leading Universities of Korea, where the GSK was inaugurated 38 years ago.

The scientific program includes three Plenary Lectures and 12 Symposia focusing on the latest research breakthroughs. In addition, a Poster Session will be arranged for young scientists to present their research progress. This year, we are pleased to have Dr. Ali Shilatifard (Northwestern University, USA), Dr. Hong-gil Nam (DGIST, Korea) and Dr. David A. Weisblat (University of California at Berkeley, USA) as plenary lecturers. We have a Special Lecture of Dr. Sang-Dai Park, the former president of GSK and one of leaders in the history of Korean Life Sciences, regarding ¡®History of Genetics in Korea¡¯ at the Welcome Reception. In addition, more than 38 world-class scientists from domestic and foreign institutions and 14 Korean young scientists will introduce cutting-edge studies in the Symposia.

There will be a ceremony for the 1st GSK Academic Research Awards, such as the GSK Life Science Award and the GSK Young Scientist Award. In addition, many companies and industries in the field of bioscience and biotechnology will participate at this conference for the exhibition of research material, biotechnology, and equipment.

We are confident that this conference will provide to all the participants with the most updated information on the latest scientific advancements and valuable opportunities to exchange the ideas and launch future collaborations.
